Our firm recently hired a law clerk for the summer. In my 7 or so years as a paralegal, I've never had to work with a law clerk. Are they first-year's in law school? Ours doesn't seem to know a whole lot about subpoenas, pleadings, etc., which caused me to raise an eyebrow. I would really like to hear about other paralegals' experiences with law clerks -- the good, the bad and the ugly. :)

A Law Clerk is someone in law school, first, second or third year. Law school teaches law and the history of law not how to fill out a subpoena and file a pleading, that's way we have law clerks so that the paralegals can teach them how it's done.

So help the person as much as you can because one day that person may be your boss!! "Food for the wise"
