I have a quite useless bachelor's degree in liberal arts. As you can imagine, I make next to no money working in a university library and slinging Barbecue and domestic long necks on the weekends.
Today, I was discussing with a friend that the law profession has always fascinated me and that my family has long pressured me to go to law school, but I am not in a position to be able to go to law school. He said, "have yout thought about being a paralegal?" And I honestly had to tell him ,"No."
I started doing some reading today online. In my area, there is a 6 weekend intensive certificate course to become a paralegal.
Can anyone here tell me what they know about courses like this? Will I be able to get a good job with this kind of certificate? Do good firms who like their paralegals usually offer to help with an Associates or Masters?
Tell me what you know! Enthrall me with your acumen!

Perbles,
If you decide to attend a paralegal school I would suggest you first contact your local Paralegal Association or the state office and find what credentials you'll need. Example: ABA approved school!! (A must for CA) (Also, don't bother attending a paralegal program if it's longer than a year, if that's the case you should sign up for law school, if you have a B.A. already)
Some companies will pay up to half of your education, also a good thing to research.
You may not make a lot of money at first but you won't need a second job!! Starting salary in L.A. is around $35,000-$40,000

| Salaries are lower in some areas... here in SE Washington State, they range from about $20K to a high of $30K. |

| Tops off around $100K-$125K....in larger firms paralegals are billing out at $250 an hour. Wow!! |
